LANGUAGE ARTS:

This week we are building background on the history of South Sudan and the effects of its second civil war before we begin reading Linda Sue Park's A Long Walk to Water. This novel is based on the real-life experiences of Sudanese "Lost Boy" Salva Dut. We will begin reading the novel on Wednesday after we complete Anticipation Stations on Monday and Tuesday. Just a reminder, Friday marks the end of the quarter, so all assignments need to be completed and submitted before the end of the week. If you have any questions about your grade or need help with an assignment, please have students come and see me after school or send me an email. This has been a very productive and rigorous quarter! I'm very proud of how hard students have worked!

MATH:

PACK:

This week in P.A.C.K. we are covering Internet Safety. A lot of students wanted phones, video games, and devices that allow them to connect to the internet and interact with people. We discussed how to identify scams, how to protect our data, and most importantly how to not be targeted by a predator. Please feel free to quiz your children on what they learned about protecting themselves on the internet. Additionally, we are closing out the quarter and the semester. I have built in 30 minutes in my class for all students to work on any assignment from any class to get their grades caught up if they are struggling. I am also in my class at lunch if they need additional time or help.
