Weekly Update 4/24/2023 - 4/28/2023

Welcome to the KMS 6th Grade Weekly Update!

Math ISATS begin this week on Monday, April 24th and Tuesday, April 25th. This Wednesday is the last day to turn in Hobby Day Papers! Make sure they are signed and filled out completely. Also please make sure to stock up on pencils/writing utensils to finish the rest of the year off! It would help the teachers out a lot!

LANGUAGE ARTS:

This week in English we will be studying poetry. Students will be writing a Bio Poem and an, “I Am” Poem. Remember, AR reading is due May 15th. Your student needs to read two books in their reading level this quarter; they must also pass an AR test on both books. Please reach out to me with any questions. Have a happy, sunny week!

MATH:

In math we are taking our first ISAT test this week. We'll also continue our study of statistics by analyzing a real-world data set and applying what we've been learning.

If students have a zero for an assignment that means it is missing. There is still time to get caught up!

STEM:

Hello, the weeks are flying by fast! Please make sure ALL missing work is completed. This Thursday and Friday students will take their Unit 4, Biomechanics of the Human Body Exam. This exam will be an open note test. Students are allowed to use their vocabulary sheet, flash card assignment and human anatomy worksheet. If any of these have been lost, they may create their own handwritten notes to use. There will NOT be a retake. While students can use these resources it is very important, they are studying each night.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
