Kimberly School District is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Performing Arts Teacher to lead a comprehensive theatre class that works in conjunction with our after-school theatre program for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about developing students’ creativity, confidence, and technical theatre skills through both classroom instruction and live performance experiences.

Position Overview
The Performing Arts Teacher will design and deliver engaging instruction across a range of theatre disciplines while supporting and aligning with our after-school theatre program and school productions. This is a one-class-period assignment during first semester only, making it an excellent opportunity for an educator seeking a part-time teaching role with meaningful impact. The course emphasizes both performance and technical theatre, providing students with hands-on experience in all aspects of production. This position will be compensated as a 5% certified teaching contract for one semester, based on the district’s certified salary schedule.

Responsibilities Include
• Teach acting techniques, scene study, and character development
• Introduce students to set design and construction
• Provide instruction in costume design, makeup, and wardrobe management
• Teach fundamentals of lighting and sound design, including equipment operation
• Guide students in script analysis, stage direction, and production planning
• Support and collaborate with the after-school theatre program, including rehearsals and performances
• Promote teamwork, responsibility, and professionalism in a production environment
• Incorporate elements of stage management and props design
• Create opportunities for student leadership and hands-on learning
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom and performance environment

Qualifications
• Valid teaching credentials or ability to obtain appropriate certification
• Background or experience in theatre arts, performing arts, or a related field
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and community members
• Experience with school or community theatre productions preferred
