KSD will be closed on Friday, Jan 12

No School
Dear Kimberly School District Families,

Over the last few days Kimberly School District Administration has been closely monitoring the weather forecast. Snow accumulations have varied greatly across the Magic Valley causing some neighboring districts to close or issue an early release.

Thankfully, Kimberly has been able to continue with school and activities as normal. The option to close school is taken very seriously and is done with the best interest of our students and staff in mind. Generally, the determination to cancel school is made in the early morning after District Administration survey the roads and driving conditions within boundaries.

Given the unprecedented Blizzard Warning that has been issued for the Magic Valley, including Kimberly, the decision has been made to cancel school for Friday, January 12, 2024.  This includes all KSD schools and RISE Charter School, with student activities to be determined. Please refer questions about these events to your sport/club Advisor.  Dual credit students taking classes should check with their respective institution for closure information.

As always, this decision is being made out of an abundance of caution to allow parents adequate time to prepare and make arrangements for their students.

Monday, January 15, 2024, is a Teacher Work Day/No Student school day. We look forward to seeing our student back on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Sincerely,

Luke Schroeder
Superintendent
