To Turkey or Not to Turkey? Bulldogs Discuss Thanksgiving Plans

Thanksgiving is a national holiday where everyone eats turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, rolls, and many other things. It is one of the best holidays, and, of course, a great excuse to get fat! Why do we even celebrate Thanksgiving anyway?

A long time ago the Pilgrims came to America on a boat called the Mayflower. To celebrate their success in making it to America safely and the crops they were able to grow they celebrated with a big meal and shared it with the Wampanoag Native American tribe. Now the holiday is called Thanksgiving.

A student from each grade and a few teachers were asked what they are doing for Thanksgiving and what their favorite dish is.

Freshman Melanie Pasko said, “For Thanksgiving break, I plan to catch up on so much sleep. For Thanksgiving dinner, I think my whole family is coming over. I am most excited to eat mashed potatoes. And I plan to get so fat, like so fat to where I look like I am 9 months pregnant fat!”

Mrs. Tisha said, “For Thanksgiving, I am going to my bestie’s house with my family because she likes my extended family and I love her. My favorite dish at Thanksgiving is my homemade cheese ball! It is just so good!! And I am already fat so I will not get much fatter!”

Sophomore Kylie Fenton said, “During Thanksgiving break, I am going to babysit a bunch. For Thanksgiving dinner, I will be doing a lot of good stuff, and I absolutely love mashed potatoes. I plan on filling up with mashed potatoes to where I get as fat as the cat Garfield.”

Junior Santiago Perez said, “I plan to hit up all the homies and see what is up, and then on Thanksgiving me and my family are going to see all the home boys. I plan to stuff my face with Jello. I only want to gain two pounds. I better not go over my limit.”

Mr. Garey said, “My family is going to have Thanksgiving dinner at my mother-in-law's house with my family. Then, on Saturday, we are going to have a basketball game. And all-time favorite Thanksgiving dish is stuffing. I hope I do not get too fat.”

Senior Riya Thompson said, “I am staying home but all my brothers are visiting me. We are all going to have Thanksgiving dinner together. I cannot wait to eat pumpkin bars. Even though it is just the desert, I just absolutely love it. I plan to get so fat like Pete from Mickey Mouse.”
