Monday was a big night for the Bulldogs as the high school baseball team came together for a massive win on senior night. The games were filled with lots of big moments as the players showed their teamwork and camaraderie.

The boys went 2-0 in a doubleheader against Filer’s baseball team that day. Throughout the two games, the boys scored a total of 37 runs, winning 16-6 in the first game and 21-11 in the second. There were many big hits throughout the night which caused the team to get fired up. Offensively, the Bulldogs hit great with Gunner Stringham and MaCraye Bruning each hitting a homerun. Together the boys continued to rally together with many more hits. Dillon Chiatovich ended the first game with a walk-off double, clearing the bases and ending the first game.

Chiatovich praised the team's energy, saying, “The team was surrounded with lots of energy, which carried into the next game.”

Although there were a few mistakes defensively, the team didn’t let it stop them. Freshman Brent Florence teamed up with senior Colton Sabin to make a clutch double play in the field. No matter what the position, every player worked hard to secure the win against Filer.

In the last couple of innings, Filer battled back, tying the score 11-11; however, Kimberly rallied back and scored 10 in the last inning to finish the game.

Chiatovich said, “We all performed well, and everyone worked together to execute their jobs both on the field and in the dugout.”

This was a huge win for the boys that will surely carry over into the rest of the season. With districts fast approaching, the team’s combination of hard work, teamwork, and talent has them well-positioned to end this season with a win.
