I am so excited! 2nd grade is a big year. Many things are going to change for your student. There will be more expectations, such as becoming more independent and cooperating with others. It is important for school and home to work together to help the students meet and exceed expectations. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. It is going to be a great year!!!
My name is Tina Marie Sumsion. My birthday is November 21, 1983, so I am 42 years old. I grew up on a farm in Utah. I have been married to Jade for 22 years. We have 3 kids; Afton(17), Gage(14), and Oakley(11). Our dog Remy is a Miniature Golden Doodle and is 7 years old. I also have chickens and pigs. We have moved 19 times but have lived in Kimberly for 14 years. We love it here!
Education: I graduated from Utah State University where I received two bachelor Degrees, Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. This is my sixth-year teaching 2nd grade at KES. I also taught 3rd grade in Utah for a few years.
Goals
To provide a supportive learning environment, where students feel safe, loved, challenged, and successful.
To help students be responsible for their learning.
To encourage students to positively interact with others in their learning process.
To help students be the “Bees”-be happy, be kind, be strong, be positive, be thankful, be a friend, be awesome, and be you.
Take Home Folders will come home the 2nd Week of School
Reading 80 minutes a week will help them achieve their Accelerated Reader Goals. Please record books and minutes read on their reading log, so it can help them achieve their AR Goal. Complete the Spiral Math Review. Please return every Monday
