Student Checklist

Classwork for weeks 8-9

We are almost done with the school year. For the last two weeks, we have provided a packet of activities on sharks! Students will complete the packet throughout the next two weeks along with Zearn Math and Istation. Please use these two weeks to complete the packet and to catch up on any past work (if needed). Thank you all for your hard work!

Students will complete these activities daily.

Math:  https://www.zearn.org/

  • Students will continue to work on Zearn Math that follows our Engage NY Math curriculum. Students will continue to work on Module 7 or 8 and complete 1 lesson per day. Each lesson has 4 levels/parts to it.

Istation:

Students will continue to use Istation for reading and math.

  • Reading-20 minutes
  • Math-20 minutes

Reading:

  • ** Please return school library books if students have any at home. The library has a "Library Return" box at the office vestibule (front entrance).**
  • Students can continue to read daily. If students don’t have books at home, students can find books online through Get Epic Books, Vooks, and YouTube (book read alouds). These additional resources are not extra reading.

Students will complete these activities for the next two weeks (packet).

E.L.A. and Writing

  • Pages 1 & 2-Shark Facts/Opinions Sorting:

Students will cut out the sentence boxes (page 1) and sort them by facts or opinions. Students will glue the sentence boxes on the sorting mat (page 2) depending if the sentence is a Fact or Opinion.

  • Page 3- Pick a Prompt Writing:

Students will choose an item from each category (character, setting and plot) to write a story. Students can write on the back or use a separate sheet of paper if needed.

  • Pages 4 & 5-Great White Sharks Reading and Questions:

Students will read the passage, Great White Sharks and answer the five questions about the passage.

  • Page 6-Additional Resources on Sharks:

Students can listen to read alouds about sharks, work on shark art activities, and read through the vocabulary words on sharks!

These activities are optional.

Science and Social Studies: If students would like to add Science and Social Studies by working on some experiments or read about animals, events, etc., they can add it to their day. Scholastic, Mystery Science, and National Geographic for Kids are some resources available to use.

Specials: Some specials teachers provided work for students to work on. Keep in mind students go to specials once or twice a week, if you’d like to keep a similar schedule. Computers, Library, and P.E. are twice a week. Literacy and Music are once a week.

You can access their page through Stricker Elementary à Teachers à Specials
