The Kimberly Middle School Library has books, Internet accessible computers,
A.R. testing, and videos. Information is easy to find for most projects that
are required at Kimberly Middle School.

The Library is open from approximately 8:00AM
to 4:00PM,
Monday - Friday.
Policies
Library books can be check out for a three-week period. There is a 10 cents
per day fine for books returned late. The grace period for late books
is two days. Books can be renewed twice if no one else is waiting on the

Great News for Parents about AR
Great news! You are able to see your child's Accelerated Reader and STAR record
from your home computer or anywhere you can get on the Internet.
You can see which quizzes they have taken, what percentage of their AR
goal they have reached, what their average percent correct is, and how well
they
did on their last STAR test. Plus, you get this information instantly – as
soon as they take a quiz, you can see the results.
Here is how to get there. The URL or Internet address is http://hosted57.renlearn.com/250262/
Once you are on the Welcome to Renaissance Place page, click on parent. Your
login is your first initial and your last name with no spaces. (Mine would
be jleavitt.) The first time you login your password should be 12345 and it
should ask you to change your password after that so you can select your own.
The section you will mostly be interested in is Accelerated Reader. Clicking
on Goals and Points lets you see the average percent correct, how many points
they've earned, what percent of their quarter goal has been reached, and what
their average book level is.
Clicking on Student Record Report lets you see a list of books they've read
this year and their score on each one.
Quiz list shows you all the AR quizzes we have for our school. If the company
has a quiz on their list at http://www.renlearn.com/store/quiz_home.asp we
should have it here at the middle school as well. Let Jennifer Leavitt (423-4358
x 3287) know if we do not.
Clicking on STAR Reading Parent Report lets you see how well they did on
the last STAR test they took. That test is given three times a year – in
September, January, and May.
Renaissance Place School-to-Home report gives you a consolidated report. The
one problem with this report is that the percent of expected points may not
coincide with the percent of goal you see in the Accelerated Reader report.
The AR report is the one we use, not this one.
NOTE: Even though parents may see the AR records from home, children will not
be able to take quizzes at home or anywhere away from school.
NOTE: If you do not have access to the Internet, you are welcome to come to
the KMS Library anytime during school hours to see their AR record or to look
at their grades on Power School.
TROUBLESHOOTING: Of course, there are always exceptions to any standardized
formula. If you are unable to login using your first initial and last name,
try using your spouse's. We used the name given to us on the enrollment form
as the first contact.
If that doesn't work, trying using the first two letters of your first name
and your last name (for example: jeleavitt). If someone else, student or parent,
has your same first initial we had to use two letters.
If that doesn't work and you have any problems whatsoever, please call me and
let me know. This includes having the wrong children assigned to you. You could
also email me at jleavitt@kimberly.edu. In the subject line type AR, so I recognize
what the message is about since I may not recognize your email name. Let me
know what the problem is and I will figure out what went wrong and respond
to you, hopefully the same day.
We hope you enjoy this feature and take advantage of checking up on your children.
