Students are currently taking ISAT assessments and working hard this fourth quarter. Progress reports will continue to be sent home weekly on Wednesdays to be signed by a parent and returned to school to the prime time teacher. If you still need the access codes to use Powerschool to check your child’s daily performance, please call Mrs. Rands at (208) 423-4170 ext 3207.

If your child is going to be absent from school, a phone call to the school helps ensure students’ safety and increases communication between the school and the home. Helping your child arrive to school on time also helps to minimize interruptions during instructional time. Semester incentive trips will be scheduled for those students who have good attendance (5 or less absences per semester) and have a C or better in every class as stated in the student handbook. Since the school district is utilizing a parent alert system for key announcements and in case of emergencies, it is very important that the phone numbers on record for each child are current. Please review your demographic information listed on Powerschool.

Please review the middle school handbook and review school board policies if you have questions. Be sure to encourage appropriate dress by reviewing the dress code with your child. Sagging pants and low cut shirts are prohibited. Gang attire is also strongly discouraged and may include some name brand attire popular with students. Since the weather is warming up, it is extremely important that students’ shorts, skorts and skirts are longer than finger tip length when arms are stretched down at their sides.

Communication is key! Thank you for allowing us to be a partner in your child’s education. Your child deserves educational excellence and together we make a great team.

If you have any questions or comments, please call me at (208) 423-4170 extension 3207.

Letha Blick, KMS Principal
