Long Range Planning Committee Meeting
7:00 p.m.
November 30, 2010
Rotunda of the Round Building
The Long Range Planning Committee met at 7:00 p.m. on November 30 to review the extra- curricular program of the school district. A slide show was presented outlining the activities sponsored by the school district along with the estimated cost. Dakota McEwen, a high school senior, provided a student’s perspective on the value of the activities.
Slightly less than half of the students at the high school participate in extra-curricular athletic teams and just slightly more than half participate in non-athletic activities. Many students participate in more than one activity. The cost at the high school is approximately $115.00 per student participant. At the middle school, the cost averages $82.00 per student per activity. The elementary school activities cost approximately $80.00 per student per activity. The activities at the elementary school include wrestling, handbell choir, choir and the after school program.
The slide show listing the activities and costs at each school is available on the Kimberly School District Website under District News, Long Range Planning Committee.
