Tour of Campus
and
Committee Meeting 7:00 p.m.
Rotunda of the Round Building
The Long Range Planning Committee toured the Kimberly school campus on Tuesday, October 19, in order to gather information on the Buildings and Grounds. After lunch in the Middle School Multipurpose Room, the members visited the Technology Department and then boarded a yellow school bus to tour the campus The Committee visited the new greenhouse, Ag Shop and Intermediate Building as well as the classroom additions at the high school and middle school. All of the new additions are being fully utilized. The committee also visited the older buildings, the athletic fields, the maintenance building and the transportation department.
The committee met again at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the present state of the campus and potential plans for the future. Although the new additions provided the educational space needed, some areas of concern that remain are the LA Thomas Gym, additional space for the Technology Department, concrete floors for the bus barn, the area behind the baseball fields and land acquisition for future growth. The construction of a Fine Arts Building and the use of Quality School Bond financing were also discussed. Space for the Technology was mentioned as a high educational priority.
