College Credit

Earn college credit in high school!

College credit through the College of Southern Idaho is currently available for the Cisco, A+, Microsoft, and Novell Certification classes. We are working with CSI to have credit available for other classes as well.

Number of Credits

Typically, each one-semester class is worth 3 college credits. Therefore, completing all four semesters of the Cisco curriculum makes the student eligible for 12 college credits. Completing a Novell or Microsoft certification is usually worth 3 college credits for each certification passed.

Cost per Credit

Under our current arrangement with CSI, each credit costs about $15 while the student is still enrolled in high school. This is much, much less than the standard cost.

How to Get Credit

Once enrolled in a Kimberly Information Technology Academy course that is eligible for college credit, students may opt to apply for credit through CSI. The student's course grade, lab notebook or portfolio, and a skills/competency check-off sheet must be submitted to the CSI instructor for review before the college credit is granted. Passing the industry certification exam is extremely helpful when applying for credit, and is strongly encouraged for all students seeking college credit.

Please contact us for the current application forms.
