Principal's MessageCraig Maki Dear Parents and Friends, We are off to another great school year at Kimberly Elementary. We have a fantastic staff ready to meet the educational needs of our students. We currently have 650 students enrolled in grades K-5. We have several changes in our school this year that we are excited about. We have a new phone system and the phone number 423-5118 is no longer in use. Our new number is 423-4170. We have a new building that holds our third grade classrooms. We currently have five classrooms of third graders, a computer lab, a special education classroom, a library, and office area in the new building. If your child is in grades 3-5 you will need to go to the office in the new building to check students in or out. Patty Dame will be the secretary in this office. We no longer have the early release on Wednesday afternoons. We have designed a schedule that allows our staff to meet with grade level teams to plan lessons and learning activities. Mrs. Burch has been hired as our computer lab teacher. Each student in grades 1-5 will go to the computer lab at least once a week for instruction in technology. Mrs. Burch is a certified elementary teacher with a great deal of knowledge with computers and technology. Mrs. Kincaid has been hired as a literacy specialist. She will be working with all students in grades 1-3. She will provide instruction in specific reading and spelling skills. Mrs. Howell is our new music teacher for students in first, second, and third grade. Mrs. Howell has taught music privately and is very excited to have the opportunity to work at Kimberly Elementary. We welcome and are grateful to have all of these individuals. We look forward to a wonderful year. If you have any questions or concerns during the year, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office.
