District Update | Kimberly
Dear Parents and Patrons of Kimberly School District,
I would like to welcome everyone back to another school year! The first day of school for students is Monday, August 27, 2018. Registration information is on the back side of this letter and can be found on our website. Middle and elementary school supplies lists are also available on the district website and high school teachers will notify students of their supply needs during the first day of class.
We ask that everyone take extra precaution before and after school for the safety of our children and pay special attention to pedestrians, bicyclists, runners, school zones, speed limits, and cross walks. Please slow down and move over for bicyclists, pedestrians, runners, and farm equipment. Please put phones away and pay attention to your surroundings.
With the addition of Stricker Elementary the districts transportation policies and procedures have changed. Specifically, parents may pick only one pick up and one drop off designation. Also, student’s will not be picked up or dropped off outside of their school boundary. Refer to polices 8100 and 8100P on our website for further information. Please contact the transportation department with any questions.
The Kimberly School Board of Trustees would like to invite everyone to the Free to Community Varsity Football Game on Friday, August 24th at 7:00 PM as we take on Snake River. Kimberly patrons will be admitted for free. This event is sponsored by Starr Corporation and Idaho Vipers.
I have previously asked for volunteers who are wanting to serve on our security and safety advisory group. We still have a few seats available. If you are interested, please provide me with a letter of interest at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can drop off at the district office.
Come join us for the Stricker Elementary Open House on September 8, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:30 PM. Hotdogs, hamburgers, and refreshments will be provided by Starr Corporation.
The Kimberly PTSO and Kimberley School Foundation are working together once again planning the annual benefit dinner and auction for Saturday, October 20 at 5:00 PM. Please mark your calendars, more information for this event will become available soon.
The personal safety and welfare of each child is of paramount concern to the Board of Trustees, employees, and patrons of the District. Policies and procedures are in place to deal appropriately with instances of harassment, intimidation, and bullying. We ask anyone that has reasonable cause that a student has been subject to harassment, intimidation, or bullying to report the incident to the administration immediately. For definitions and further information on the subject, please refer to policies 3225, 3237, and 5235 on our website.
Finally, I would like to remind parents of their right to object to the release of directory information of their student. For further information, please refer to School Board Policy 3570P on our website or by contacting the school or district office.
Best wishes for the 2018-2019 school year,
