District Update
|
Español Dear Parents and Patrons of Kimberly School District:
The new school year is off to a great start. We are happy to see our
returning students, and we welcome those who are new to our district.
If you stop by any classroom, and we hope you do, you will see teachers
and students enthusiastically engaged in teaching and learning.
We have several new faculty members this year. Please join us in a
big BULLDOG welcome for
- Mr. Brett Darrington, an ISU grad, who has returned to his Idaho roots
from Vernal, Utah and is teaching social studies and English at the
High School. Brett has joined our coaching staff as the 7th grade boys'
basketball coach.
- Ms. Kimberly Dixon, who comes to us highly recommended from
La Grande, OR and holds a masters degree in education. She is teaching
5th grade at Kimberly Elementary School.
- Mr. Clint Evans, who is teaching business and social studies
classes at Kimberly High School half time. He also teaches at the Northside
Alternative School. Mr. Evans received his Masters in Educational Leadership
from the University of Idaho.
- Mr. Darren Garey, an ISU grad who is teaching Middle School
math and coaching the Middle School football and 8th grade boys’ basketball
teams. Mr. Garey has 6 years teaching and coaching experience in the
Magic Valley.
We are also pleased to announce that Mr. Darren Warth is our new Dean
of Students at the high school.
Construction continues on the high school and middle school additions
and the hole is now being filled in preparation for construction of
the intermediate building.
The lanes on the track were painted last week and the fencing was
installed. Our new track is ready for use. We thank the taxpayers
and all those who had the vision and worked so long to make
this a reality.
We invite members of the community to walk the track. However,
in fulfilling our responsibility to protect this facility
so that it will last for
years, we ask that those using the track be sure to wear appropriate
foot gear and use the two outside lanes as much as possible.
During football games, we request that spectators stay behind
the four foot
fence as they follow the action on the field.
A fence has been installed to protect the slope south of the football
field until this area is reseeded. There has also been some concern
expressed that the children playing in this area were not supervised
and this might be a safety issue. When the grass is established we
will discuss the best use of this area.
We are looking forward to a large and enthusiastic crowd at our first
football game on September 5.
Sincerely yours,
Kathleen Noh
Superintendent
